Billings Montana, Buffalo Wyoming, Rapid City......rain and WIND.....

Finally had some good weather during our stay in Rapid City.  Spent time in the Black Hills visiting sights.

Mr Mountain Goat who welcomed us at Mt Rushmore (no this is not the Rapid City Zoo)
Guess the Presidents....which of the four is missing....

Chapel in the Hills. Replica of the Borgund Stavkirke bult around 1150 near Laerdal, Norway.

Norwegian Log Cabin Museum on church property

Rode the 1880 steam locomotive powered train with 19th century coaches from Keystone to Hill City along the early miners route.

Crazy Horse Memorial, a mountain carving that is "in progress" honoring the North American Indian Culture. Interesting story about the sculptor, Korczak Ziolkowski, who was commissioned by Chief Standing Bear and the Lakota community. He started work on the sculpture in 1948 and since his death in 1982 his wife and several of his children have continued work on the project.

Scale model for mountain sculpture
Traveled the Needles and Iron Mountain Highways and survived the hairpin turns and narrow tunnels....

Eye of the Needle
