We have just spent 5 days in the Asheville area visiting our friend Mary Ellen and taking in the sights.

The first couple of days we had two inches of rain and flash floods in the area..Boooo! Then it cleared up and we had gorgeous weather for the next 3 days. The following pictures are from the downtown area of Asheville which is very eclectic...remember the 70's.

We visited a unique hotel in Asheville, the Park Grove Inn which opened in 1913. They allowed us to look but not stay.

The following views are from the Inn.

Our campsite was in the Pisgah National Forest just outside Asheville.  A great place to stay.
